Camping at Lake Snowden

Lake snowden test 5-1

Many of Lake Snowden visitors want an extended stay at the lake. Camping is available on a daily, weekly, and seasonal basis. We have 125 sites, 95 with electricity and 30 without for primitive camping.

Campsites are divided into four areas. The Locust Grove is ideal for those wanting to use the horse trails. Big Oak camp has some lakefront sites and is close to the play area. Hickory Camp is close to the camp shelter house and off the beaten path. Hilltop Camp offers sites on the hilltop with hot showers and flush toilets (vault toilets are located in the other camps).

Running water is placed throughout the park. A dump station is located near the Shower House.

While campsites are rented on a first-come, first-served basis, reservations are accepted with advance payment. At Lake Snowden, we set aside about half of our sites for seasonal use, while the remainder serves our overnight guests.

By signing the Agreement, Campers acknowledge that by participating in recreational activities, they accept the risks which are inherent in the recreational activity. Campers shall protect and hold Hocking harmless from and against any and all claims, demands, causes, actions or damages, together with any and all losses, costs and expenses including without limitation any attorney’s fees, for the death or injury to any person or persons or damage to property, of any kind and nature, which may arise out of or in connection with the use and occupancy of Campsite, campground area, or any of the other areas and facilities at Lake Snowden or arising out of any act, omission or negligence of Hocking, its employees, agents, guests, or others acting in concert with or occupying the property of Hocking or otherwise using and participating in activities at Lake Snowden or the area otherwise owned by Hocking College, including woods, trails, water or other environments at Lake Snowden.
